His final days were overseen by the kind and professional staff of Beacon Hospice and Privatus Care Solutions. Spargo was lovingly cared-for by the outstanding staff of Brookdale Cape Cod, his home for the past 10 years. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.ĭr. John was predeceased by his six siblings: Esther Walp Edgar Spargo Frances Gherardi Richard Spargo Anna Delucia and Ruth Warren. In his retirement, he enjoyed sailing, walking, reading and photography. He was also the co-owner of Camp Seascape, a camp for overweight girls in Brewster. John was a Director of Student Medical Services at Northeastern University. He served with distinction in the Navy during World War II as a decorated bomber pilot. His undergraduate studies were at Marietta College, he received his medical degree from Western Reserve School of Medicine in Cleveland, OH, and interned in Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital in Boston. John took an early interest in the medical profession due to his Father’s passing from bacteremia. He was born in Quincy, MA, one of William and Mabel Spargo’s seven children.
